Why I Am Running

We have an outstanding school district--thanks primarily to bright students; involved parents; generous taxpayers; and talented teachers--but these are tough times, and they require new leaders without a "business as usual" approach to governance. If we are to maintain TE's twin traditions of academic excellence and fiscal discipline, we will need to do a better job of reaching out and communicating with the students, parents, taxpayers, and teachers that make those priorities a reality.

I am committed to doing just that, and so I encourage you to begin the process of sharing with me your views on our public schools: the curricula; the homework; the sports; the extra-curriculars; the teachers; the taxes; the testing; the mandates; the salaries; the fields; the buses; the food; the parking; the sidewalks; the elementary, middle, and high schools; drugs and alcohol--or whatever other issue that comes to mind. I might not have all the answers, and you might not like all the answers I give (I trust you'll like most), but the important thing is that we begin the conversation.

As you will see, I am an educator who is passionate about our schools, our community, and our republic. Please join me as we work together to improve our locally-controlled public schools.
